"Put down that mouse & book this place right now!" • "My husband and I finally decided to try the Mast Farm Inn after hearing a friend rave about the place. It exceeded our expectations on every level. We stayed for two nights in Raspberry Hill, a nice big, quiet house on a mountain above the Inn. The hot tub on the porch was secluded and heavenly in the chilly air. Dinner was good beyond belief. I am a member of several gourmet societies and am pretty picky. Every course was perfection. Breakfast was just as good, if not better. They even have bee hive on the grounds. As a stressed out city girl, I found the quiet at this place totally transforming. One afternoon I took a blissful three hour nap. Put down that mouse…you won’t find a better Inn than this!"
"A Long Weekend Celebrating Our Anniversary" • "We just recently returned from the Mast Farm Inn from a long weekend celebrating our anniversary. The cabin was very nice and perfect for the two of us. It had a great rustic feel to it, but with all the wanted and needed amenities. Not to forget the flip switch gas furnace for the cold winter nights. The view from our window was gorgeous with a pond and the melting snow. Our cabin was tucked away towards the woods and provided a nice quiet experience. The breakfast gave us something to look forward to in the mornings, served at just the right time and not too early. There is always something sweet and something salty to begin the day. The people were very friendly and helpful. We took advantage of the nearby attractions during the day on nearby ski slopes, wildlife refuge, hiking and downtown Boone shopping. For anyone who enjoys driving, renting one of the Club Ferdinand Porsches for these twisty mountain roads is so much fun and a must! G & I enjoyed EVERYTHING about our weekend in Valle Crucis, Boone and Banner Elk. It’s so nice to be able to escape from the fast paced life we all live today. We especially enjoyed the older issues of "LIFE" and "National Geographic" Magazines. My parents actually have quite a few of them stored away so now I will have to pull them out for our own collection! G said this was the perfect trip for me… delicious food, beautiful gardens and shopping at the Mast General Store… We hope to visit again in the fall. "Absolutely Perfect" • "My husband and I just celebrated our 10th Anniversary and stayed one night at the Mast Farm Inn. From the moment I made my reservation the customer service I received was spectacular! We had dinner reservations the night of our arrival and let me say, it was the highlight of our stay. They make dinner an unforgettable event! The food was fresh, beautiful and delicious. The chef accommodated all of my special diet requests. We were extremely pleased with our stay and look forward to our next visit."

"Anniversary Getaway" • "It was such a wonderful weekend even though it was stormy and raining part of the weekend. We enjoyed the Friday 5PM champagne and the 8AM wake up coffee. We spent time reading & swinging on the wraparound porch dodging the showers. The staff was fabulous with their help in locating points of interest and making dinner reservations for us. The food was outstanding and the servings were hefty. The MFI pays attention to every detail to make your stay as great as it can be."

"Anniversary Surprise!" • "My husband and I decided somewhat last minute to take a trip to the mountains for our anniversary. We had always wanted to stay at the Mast Farm Inn, and when we called, to our delight, they had availability! Our room was incredible, the people were more than accommodating, but the true highlight was the food. We had dinner there and couldn’t believe how amazing the food was…especially for the price we paid. 5 stars in our book – we can’t wait to go back!"
"Awesome" • "My wife and I stayed 3 nights for our 19th anniversary. It was the most relaxing vacation we have ever experienced! Never have we had so many people trying so hard so make us happy. Being Vegan can be challenging while traveling, usually meaning I’m cooking while on vacation. But the chiefs were happy to accommodate. We were only fortunate enough to have dinner once, the night we arrived. The chefs prepared an excellent meal for us being careful of allergies and dietary restrictions and everything was served with a smile giving us a glimpse of what was to come. Our first morning it was cold outside but the Warmth, laughter and unbelievable food served with a friendly smile kept us happy all day. We could not wait for breakfast every morning. We stayed in the Maple springs cabin. It’s on the hill behind the Inn surrounded by deer and tall white pines. It was warm and private with a hot tub in the snow. What a great way to end the year. When we checked out it was like leaving family. We are already planning our next visit."
"Can’t Wait To Visit Again Soon!" • "My husband and I visited the Mast Farm Inn for out honeymoon and then again for our 10-year anniversary. We stayed in the house for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it. For our 10-year anniversary we stayed in the gazebo cottage and it was wonderful too. The breakfast that came with our room was so wonderful. The grits and breakfast casseroles were so delicious. We had dinner one night at the Inn and it was exceptional. You cannot get food like this just anywhere. We cannot wait to return again soon."
"Elopement" • "After looking at many Bed and Breakfasts online, I kept going back to The Mast Farm Inn. After our recent Wedding and Honeymoon there, I realized why. The Inn Keepers and staff of The Mast Farm Inn are absolutely amazing. We did not have to worry about any detail of our wedding except what to wear. The atmosphere in the Loom House was amazing and perfect for our very private and special ceremony. Even though Danielle was extremely busy in the restaurant, she made sure we had our evening meal on our wedding night in our cabin. Special touches like hot coffee and chocolate left by our door the next morning was so much appreciated. The food is outstanding. These ladies are very talented. I highly recommend The Mast Farm Inn if you want rest, privacy, good food, and to be treated like royalty. We intend to visit on our Anniversary every year. "Our 27th year Wedding Anniversary" • "With the date of mine and my wife’s 27th year Wedding Anniversary quickly approaching, I wanted to do something different, something simple, but yet memorable. I did as most executives do, I ask my loyal intern/friend, who (by the way) takes it as a personal "challenge and accomplishment" in life, to find the greatest deal, at the finest place, with the best food… all combined with an Architecturally Historic "story" and "atmosphere". Sounds impossible to find that "place", when it falls into the category of a "B&B for the weekend". It’s not impossible! The Mast Farm Inn! A GREAT B&B, in Valle Crucis, NC. A Beautiful Historic Register Architectural Showcase, with interior rooms appointed in fine decor, each reflecting individual character. We stayed in one of the several cottages (Gazebo Cottage), positioned on the grounds adjacent to the main house. The privacy was IDEAL! The facilities were CLEAN (spotless), The Staff was like family! The food was Fabulous, unlike any other B&B we’ve been to! and I must say that the front desk reservations manager, "Anna" was very courteous, informative, and professional (over the phone and in person)! We were located 5 minutes from the heart of Valle Crucis, 15 minutes from downtown Blowing Rock, and 15 minutes from AppState, where our oldest son will attend this Fall. At checkout, NO SURPRISES!! NO ADD-ONS, NO PENALTIES! It was exactly what we expected, and exact in what we had purchased! After everyone had checked out, (Sunday) we requested a quick walk-through, to view a few open rooms, so we could make a list of where we’ll stay in the Fall, when we return. All in all, the best "stay" away from home we’ve experienced. We will never have to "look" again for a fantastic B&B in the Boone, NC area."

"Our 35th Anniversary Trip" • "Found Mast Farm Inn on Trip Advisor. Stayed for 2 nights for our 35th Anniversary. It was the best. We arrived for dinner and it was superb. The room and bedding was just as we had expected. We got a package to rent a Porsche for a day. We had it for 24 hours with a picnic lunch. Got it about 11 AM the first day and used it until 9 PM and they got up in the morning and drove it for 2 hours the next. What a treat. Definitely worth the expense. The breakfast was very tasty. Would recommend the Mast Farm Inn for anyone wanting something different for a weekend away. We loved it."

"Our First Anniversary" • "My husband and I recently held our nuptials at the Mast Farm Inn. The setting for the ceremony was very romantic, in addition, our small guest list enabled us to dine privately within the Inn. We, as with our family and friends, received impeccable service and the food was incredible. The on-site cabins were perfect accommodations for larger families who joined us for the ceremony. Our expectations were extremely high, and The Mast Farm Inn exceeded them by a mile. The inn is located in a most idyllic spot. I was charmed by the Victorian architecture of the inn, and the beautiful old trees, patches of wildflowers, and mountain views that surround it. Upon arrival, we were upgraded (at no charge) to one of the inn’s cabins for our weekend stay. It allowed us exceptional privacy, and we were very comfortable in this cozy, rustic cabin. We enjoyed one dinner and two breakfasts during our stay. The food was plentiful, filling, and scrumptious. Most impressive was the chef’s conscientious effort to accommodate my severe allergy to nuts. She prepared my food separately and provided me with alternative dishes, when necessary. All of the staff at the Mast Farm Inn treated us just as well. They informed of us nearby outdoor activities to our liking and entertained us in the evenings with pleasant conversations on the inn’s wrap-around porch."

"Peace and Quiet" • "My husband and I stayed in the Loom House – on the property of the main inn- for two nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The house was perfect – plenty of privacy, quiet and well-appointed. Rocking chairs on the little porch were a perfect way to spend time drinking coffee and chatting or reading. The breakfasts are amazing – so delicious and very filling, so much so, you can easily forgo lunch. The staff are friendly and helpful, even helping my husband figure out how to get flowers placed in our room as a surprise for me. I highly recommend The Mast Farm Inn."

"Romantic Place" • "We stayed in the Loom House, a log cabin set next to the main house. With a fire in the fireplace and the cozy bed upstairs, it was a wonderful setting for our anniversary. The old cabin is very historic and is purported to be the oldest house in the county. We dined at the restaurant, sitting outside in the garden. Breakfast in the dining room was wonderful. The barn across the street was the setting for some live mountain music at night, with wine served at the rustic outdoor bar. What a great surprise that was! Overall, it was a very memorable experience."

"Unforgettable Long Weekend Escape!" • "My husband and I had made reservations to celebrate our first wedding anniversary at the Mast Farm Inn in March. We read plenty of reviews prior to our arrival and are so pleased to say that our experience exceeded our expectations. We spent three nights in the Blacksmith Shop and really enjoyed our accommodations. Neither of us had ever stayed in anything resembling a rustic cabin before and we enjoyed the authenticity of our room. We were very fond of the gas stove, the soaking tub, the loft upstairs, the flat screen TV where you can only watch DVD’s, and the rocking chairs outside our room. It rained during the first two days of our trip so all of these amenities came in handy. We know we would not have had the same experience staying at a hotel/resort. The Innkeepers and staff were great, everyone was pleasant and welcoming. Everyone at the Inn made sure to congratulate us on our anniversary and seemed to genuinely care that we had a nice stay. We really did feel like we belonged there and at no point felt uncomfortable. Every aspect of our stay was wonderful, starting with the coffee basket delivered to our door at 8am, to the delicious 2 course breakfasts made with natural ingredients. We also had the opportunity to dine at Simplicity for two nights in a row and were extremely satisfied with the service and the quality of the food. We actually canceled our alternate plans for our second night to dine at Simplicity again. We loved the personalized menu’s that were very detailed describing course-by-course the treats they had in store for us. We really enjoyed the all-natural ingredients and were very happy with the portions served. It was an unbelievable experience to drive on the winding roads in NC while viewing the mountain ranges. This is a must do and we recommend it! Many thanks again to the Inn keepers and Staff for making this the BEST three day weekend escape! We can’t wait to book our next weekend escape!"

"When It Came Time To Plan Our Anniversary This Year" • "My husband and I stayed in the Loom House at the Mast Farm Inn. This was our third visit to the Inn since 2002. In the past, we have also given gift certificates for the Inn to family members. This was a special one-night getaway to celebrate our anniversary. We really adore Valle Crucis and the Inn and will always consider it one of our top choices for a romantic getaway. A little background on a past experience with the Inn: We have 2 small children – a 2 year old and a 9 month old – so it is always a treat to get some ‘grown-up’ time. We had reservations at the Inn in March 2007 as well. I was 5 months pregnant at the time and the day before we were to arrive for our anniversary weekend, I was unexpectedly hospitalized. My husband called the Inn and explained the situation and they were very gracious and understanding. Usually there is a penalty for a cancellation within the 14-day window, but not this time! Plus, we were using a gift certificate from my in-laws and I was concerned about that going to waste. No problem there, either. I ended up being on extended bed rest until our baby girl was born in June. No worries – she is one happy and healthy baby girl now! When it came time to plan our anniversary this year, the Inn was our first choice. I called Renae and explained the situation and she was very helpful. We were allowed to use our gift certificate from last year. That’s pretty amazing customer service and, unfortunately, not that common any more. Bottom-line: The staff was pleasant and helpful. The Loom House was wonderful, as usual. We really love soaking in the tub for two and building fires in the fireplace stove. No TV, no phone, no computer – my idea of heaven (short-term, anyway!) Also, we have never found the noise-level to be an issue. Breakfast was delicious – we lucked out because it was a French Toast day <<yummy>>. We will definitely go back again and again."
